Abstract

Introduction: Tinnitus is the perception of a sound in the absence of an external sound. It has a reported prevalence of 10% to 15% in adults, with a similar presentation in men and women (1). Objective: This guideline aims to generate recommendations on the initial clinical approach and updated treatment of tinnitus, based on the best scientific evidence. The target population are adults over 18 years with primary tinnitus. Purpose: Improving the care of patients with tinnitus by reducing the negative personal and social effects and quality of life.
