Abstract

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to present a new edition of the Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of the Most Common Conditions in Otolaryngology. This work is the result of a joint effort by the various University Otolaryngology Departments in our country and members of ACORL.

We wish to highlight the commitment of the 2022–2024 ACORL Board of Directors, led by Dr. Luis Humberto Jiménez Fandiño, who spearheaded this initiative, as well as the 2024–2026 Board of Directors, currently presided over by Dr. Gustavo Adolfo Romero Caballero, for their unwavering support in bringing this important contribution to the medical community to completion.

This project brings together the knowledge and dedication of those who contributed their experience and commitment to consolidating these guidelines as a supporting document for the professional practice of our specialty.

We invite you to use them in your daily practice and to continue building together the path toward excellence in otolaryngologic care in our country.

These guidelines may be adapted and/or adopted by our members and by healthcare service institutions for their daily work and for the accreditation of outpatient practices, including both independent providers and institutional healthcare service providers.

Two protocols and an informed consent form have also been developed, which are highly useful for our day-to-day clinical practice.

With our most sincere appreciation, we extend special thanks to the university departments, professors, residents, ACORL members, and the methodological team who participated in this initiative:
