Abstract

Introduction: Embolization is an endoluminal procedure of vascular or non-vascular type whose objective is to occlude a vessel to get therapeutic benefit. This procedure is performed preoperatively in Juvenile Nasoangiofibroma (NAJ). Clinical case: 17-year-old male with bilateral nasal obstruction and epistaxis of 4 months’ duration. Extension studies were performed, finding NAJ Radkowski IIIC; preoperatively taken to embolization with Polyvinyl Alcohol microparticles under general anesthesia and 40 minutes after the end of the procedure, he presented right Fascio-corporal paralysis, immediately activate the code “STROKE”; Angiotac shows an area of decrease in caliber in the Left Middle Cerebral Artery of M3 distal-M4, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance with restriction areas at the frontal cortical level, caudate and lenticular nucleus, and parietal cortex; Multidisciplinary management is carried out and to date the patient has no motor or sensory sequelae. Conclusion: It is considered relevant to understand the comprehensive approach required by patients with NAJ.
