Caracterización de la cirugía electiva de oído en tiempos de Covid 19 en el Hospital Universitario Clínica San Rafael

Introducción: La pandemia por COVID-19 ha afectado la forma del ejercicio profesional médico en Colombia debido a la suspensión de las consultas y los procedimientos quirúrgicos no urgentes o prioritarios. Por este motivo, las cirugías electivas de oído se han tenido que postergar, afectando las necesidades de los pacientes con patologías otológicas. El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar la presencia de signos y/o síntomas sospechosos de infección por SARS-Cov2 en pacientes llevados a cirugía electiva de oído en HUCSR. METODOLOGÍA: Estudio observacional retrospectivo. RESULTADOS: Se realizaron 67 cirugías de oído entre el primero de septiembre del 2020 al 31 de diciembre de 2020, 64.17% fueron por oído crónico, 32.8% fueron llevados a rehabilitación auditiva con implante coclear o dispositivo de conducción ósea, tres pacientes tenían como antecedente patológico hipertensión arterial y un paciente enfermedad pulmonar obstructiva crónica, ningún paciente presentó síntomas sugestivos de COVID el día de la cirugía, ni a las 48 horas, siete y 14 días postoperatorio. CONCLUSIÓN: Los pacientes llevados a cirugía de oído en el Hospital Universitario Clínica San Rafael no presentaron signos o síntomas compatibles con infección por COVID en el tiempo comprendido del estudio, se requieren más estudios analíticos que demuestren si este tipo de procedimientos son un factor de riesgo para adquirir la infección.
