Pott's tumor as a complication of frontal sinusitis in a pediatric patient, a case report

Abstract
Introduction: Pott puffy tumor corresponds to osteomyelitis of the frontal bone, being its main manifestation frontal edema and erythema. Methodology: Case report. Description of the case: 10-year-old male patient, with a 2-month history of frontal headache, nausea, photophobia, adynamia, cough and three days of increasing frontal and eyelid edema and erythema. On physical examination, soft to the touch with edema and erythema in the described area, right periorbital edema, tomography of the paranasal sinuses with occupation of the frontal sinus and erosion of the anterior wall of the frontal sinus on the right side. Given the findings, the patient is considered to have complicated frontal rhinosinusitis with osteomyelitis in the anterior wall of the frontal sinus (Pott Puffy tumor). Conclusions: Although it is rare, the presentation of Pott puffy tumor should not be ignored and its appropriate clinical approach should also be considered, taking into account antibiotic and surgical management.
