Abstract

For several years now, I have incorporated the preservation and use of the fibrous tonsillar capsule in the form of a flap to cover the raw area of the muscle plane into the traditional technique of intracapsular tonsillectomy.
The results have been very satisfactory in all patients, who have been able to return to their normal work in less time, with a more tolerable postoperative period without the need for additional analgesia.
In this work, I record the testimony of patients regarding their experience in the postoperative period of this procedure, questioning them from the first cases when I began to integrate this modality into the traditional technique of tonsillectomy, for which there are no similar reports in the consulted literature. The intention is basically to follow up and gather information that will allow us to recommend this complementary technique for all patients in search of a better postoperative period and an early recovery from a procedure traditionally characterized by odynophagia, generally of a severe degree.
